Odis Echols : ウィキペディア英語版
Odis Echols
Odis Leonard Echols, Jr. (May 28, 1930 – March 28, 2013) was an American politician, songwriter, radio broadcaster, and lobbyist.
Echols and Charlie Phillips wrote "Sugartime", which became a hit song for many singers, most notably Johnny Cash and the McGuire Sisters. Phillips recorded it, as well, on the Coral label, with Buddy Holly on guitar.
Echols' father, Odis Lemuel "Pops" Echols bought Clovis, New Mexico radio station KCLV. At that radio station, father and son promoted musicians such as Faron Young, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Glen Campbell, and Tommy Sands.
Born in Clovis, New Mexico, Echols graduated from Texas Tech University, Echols and his father were radio broadcasters. Echols served in the New Mexico State Senate 1966-1977. He died in Albuquerque, New Mexico.〔(Obituary )〕
